Essential Oils for Healthy Skin

Essential Oils for Healthy Skin

Sometimes we reach a point where we notice that our skin isn't too happy and we know it's time to switch something up in our skincare routine. When we’re exploring the massive amount of products on the market, it can be difficult to determine what is best for our skin. Lots of products claim to have amazing benefits for our skin but everything seems to be packed with a long list of ingredients that we may not recognize. With so many compounds in each product, it’s difficult to determine what is beneficial and which specific ingredient may be causing a reaction on our skin. Simplifying our routines to only the essential products with only a few natural ingredients can help us to find what works for our skin.

Essential oils have played an important role in natural skincare for centuries. Many oils have been found to have great benefits for the skin when properly diluted and applied topically. We can combine essential oils with just a handful of other natural ingredients to craft products that are especially suited to our skin's needs and what best fits our lifestyle. Essential oils are also easily absorbed through the skin, making them perfect ingredients in our simple, natural skincare routines.

Here are a few essential oils that are packed with skin-loving benefits.

Lavender Essential Oil helps to balance the skin and supports the ideal level of hydration. It works to soothe irritation, combat dry skin, and support skin regeneration for smooth and youthful skin.

Neroli Essential Oil has cleansing properties that work to balance the oils in the skin while preventing acne and blemishes. It also helps to minimize fine lines and wrinkles while being gentle enough for even sensitive skin types.

Geranium Essential Oil has anti-inflammatory and astringent properties that work to combat acne and irritation while also reducing signs of aging. It also helps to remove dead skin from our faces and boosts the production of new cells for a fresh complexion.

Chamomile Essential Oil helps to soothe inflammation and irritation of dry skin while improving skin hydration for long-lasting comfort. It can also combat signs of aging and boost skin regeneration for a youthful glow.

Frankincense Essential Oil is deeply nourishing to the skin and can help to heal and rejuvenate dry skin. This oil is also known to encourage healing of damaged skin and even out the skin tone.

Jasmine Sambac Absolute can help to improve skin hydration and combat dullness for bright and plump skin. It can help to reduce the appearance of dark spots and scars while also slowing the development of fine lines and wrinkles.

Clary Sage Essential Oil is another oil that works to balance the skin’s oil production to avoid excessive dryness or acne. It also soothes irritated areas and tightens the skin for a smooth and firm complexion.

Tea Tree Essential Oil is the go-to oil for acne-prone skin in part because of its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps eliminate excess sebum on the skin while also diminishing the appearance of acne scars and dark spots.
