Linalool: Terpene Highlight

Linalool: Terpene Highlight

Linalool is a monoterpene alcohol that is found in many plants. It can be found in over 200 species of plants, with many of them being herbs, laurel trees, and citrus fruit trees. Being present in plants also means that linalool is a chemical compound found in quite a few essential oils. Linalool has been found to contain beneficial calming and soothing properties that affect both the body and mind as well as possessing a scent that is widely used in cosmetics and perfumery. Its unique aroma can be described as floral and woodsy with a citrus-like freshness.

Benefits of Linalool

Linalool helps to calm the mind and promote feelings of relaxation. It works to reduce stress and anxiety and lead to a more positive mood. This also makes it useful to combat depression and negative emotions. Linalool’s sedative qualities can help to improve sleep for more restful nights and more energy in the morning. Linalool contains anti-inflammatory properties that can help to reduce pain in muscles and joints. These properties mean it can also work to reduce congestion and promote healthy circulation. Linalool has been found to contain antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that work to combat germs and bacteria. It also helps to support the immune system to help avoid and fight off illness. Linalool can also effectively deter mosquitos to help protect against disease and skin irritation.
