Moisture Lock Nourishing Hair Mask
We all know that colder temperatures and chilly seasonal winds can be unkind to our skin but we also need to consider the effects on our hair. A nourishing hair mask can help our hair to recover from exposure to harsh winter weather. Coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and shea butter may work to nourish dry hair and lock in much-needed moisture. Rosemary, lavender, and cedarwood essential oils have been found to soothe dry scalp, boost hair strength and encourage growth. Hair care is often overlooked in holiday self care gifts so this mask also makes a great treat for our friends and family who have color treated or otherwise processed hair that may need a little extra care this time of year.
Ingredients
- 4oz of Unrefined Coconut Oil
- 4oz of Sweet Almond Oil
- 2oz of Unrefined Shea Butter
- 50 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil
- 50 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
- 50 drops of Cedarwood Essential Oil
Instructions
Add coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and shea butter to a bowl. Using an electric hand mixer, whip the oils together until a fluffy, creamy consistency is formed. Add essential oils and mix again until thoroughly combined. Scoop into airtight containers for storage. Store the mask in a cool, dark location away from children and pets.
To use, apply a generous amount of the mask evenly throughout the hair. Massage it in from the roots to the tips then comb through your hair with your fingers. Optional: Cover your head with a hot towel for at least 10 minutes. Leave the mask on for up to 20 minutes. Shampoo and condition hair as normal. Repeat once a week.
